Characters were acting strangely across the board last week, doing things we never would have expected. On “Y&R,” Kevin made crazy threats one minute then doled out sage advice the next, while on “B&B,” Brooke and Taylor couldn’t help but bring up old stuff. Caleb was back in Port Charles, making people think John was a criminal. And on “DOOL,” Nicole warned Jenn about Chloe.

B&B Breakdown:
Forrester Creations had been plodding along since Stephanie’s death, but Rick finally spoke up to Eric about his feelings. “I wasn’t surprised to see Rick confront Eric about his decision to promote Thomas – just wondered why it took so long,” Candace said. “Honestly, it’s amazing this company hasn’t gone down the tubes with the amount of in-fighting and dropped lines.” Read more about the triangle and Taylor and Brooke’s rekindled rivalry in the Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Blog.

Moving on was a common theme on the shows last week, except for Hope and Liam on “B&B.” Moving on is just not in their DNA. But on “Y&R,” Chelsea tried to get past Adam while on “GH,” Patrick let Britt know there was no future for them anymore. And on “Days,” EJ and Sami moved on together, without Rafe.

B&B Breakdown:
Does anyone know who they are anymore in LA? Many actions of the characters over the past week have kept Candace guessing. “Hope seems to have undergone a veritable personality-transplant since finding out ‘the truth’ that she was ‘robbed’ and ‘lied to’,” she said. “Brooke thinks she’s more mature, and if that means more obnoxious, she’s right on the money. Neither girl is acting like herself and Liam is further away than ever from knowing who or what he wants. Such a big tiring repetitive mess. It was too much like work to make it through Taylor and Brooke arguing their daughters’ positions again this week, as well as to endure all the Italy references on Friday. Not entertaining.” Could Eric and Taylor be heading toward coupledom? Find out it in the Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Blog.

The best of the blogs.

Some people never learn, especially Hope, Liam and the rest of the triangle crew on “B&B.”  Meanwhile, Nick continued to rub all kinds of people the wrong way in Salem on “DOOL,” and Heather of all people may hold the key to ELQ’s future on “GH.” At least we got some steamy scenes between Adam and Sharon on “Y&R,” even if it was only via her imagination.

B&B Breakdown:
Someone was keeping secrets in the land of the beautiful, but interestingly it wasn’t one of the usual suspects. “Why is Dayzee’s past as an adoption facilitator such a big secret that she doesn’t even want her husband to know?” Candace asked. “She was helping these women like Maya, right? It also seems totally out-of-character for Dayzee to want to keep a secret about anything she did – she’s always been an honest, open book. Waiting for the blanks to be filled in on this one… ” Meanwhile, Liam continued to keep both his ladies close, as usual. Read about it in the Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Blog.

The best of the blogs.

Love, betrayal, lies exposed, hidden pregnancies, wedding disasters – Daytime had it all last week! Hope continued to plead her case to Liam on “B&B,” while Jack worked hard at his rehab on “Y&R.” On “GH,” Connie was forced to say goodbye to the son she barely knew. And on “Days,” Sami really let Gabi have it with a dose of hypocritical vitriol. Ouch!

B&B Breakdown:
It was mainly about the triangle last week, but Candace was glad to see that at least one of the participants had seemed to mature in recent months – and it wasn’t Hope. “Hope’s so caught up in her me-me-me mania, she hasn’t even stopped to consider that Liam’s feelings for Steffy, who actually has matured, may have now surpassed what he felt for her,” she said. “Liam, despite his preposterous declaration to Brooke that he is decisive, is still as wishy-washy as they come.” Eric also had an emotional outpouring last week. The best of the blogs.

A few weeks into the New Year and life hasn’t gotten much easier for the folks on Daytime. Adam and Victor’s feud over Newman Enterprises continued to heat up on “Y&R,” while Connie couldn’t bring herself to sign the papers that would take Trey off life support on “GH.” On “B&B,” Steffy learned she was bringing a fourth into the triangle, and on “DOOL,” Chad got ready to make life miserable for Gabi and crew.

B&B Breakdown:
Steffy and Liam are starting off the New Year with a big old oops, and Candace has a pretty good idea how this will all go. “Yup, Steffy finally came up preggers, which definitely ups the stakes,” she said. “I’d predict pretty confidently that by the time Steffy makes it back home to tell Liam the news, Hope will be draped all over him. Steffy will see what’s going on and decide to keep the pregnancy to herself, wanting Liam to choose her for her, not because she’s carrying his child…something along this line.” If you think it could end differently, comment in the Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Blog.

The best of the blogs.
The holidays are rarely a happy time for everyone on Daytime, and this past New Year’s Eve certainly showed no love to some of our favorite stars. Cane faced some competition for Lily’s affections on “Y&R,” while Sami was still torn between EJ and Rafe on “DOOL.” A devastating crash left lives in the balance on “GH,” and on “B&B,” Steffy was served up an old rival with a new agenda in a revamped Hope. It may be a new year but many of these guys are facing old battles ahead.

B&B Breakdown:
Hope decided to come at Liam with all she has. We are just not sure we want to see it, especially for the next 20 years. “Hope is really coming out with both guns blazing this time around, but it’s impossible to get excited about – not only does her version of events not make sense to what really happened, but she is uncomfortable to watch when trying to be a vixen,” Candace said. “Her confidence is admirable, but when no one can understand why she’d want him back in the first place, it’s pretty much a non-starter.” Meanwhile, can we get some of what was in Bill’s coffee? The Christmas holiday blog review.

Even though it was a short week for a few soaps, the week seemed balanced out with holiday cheer and merry mischief. Stephanie (Susan Flannery) seemed to appear on “B&B” to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, The Horton’s hung their family ornaments on the tree on “DOOL,” both the Quartermaine and Corinthos parties were crashed on “GH,” and on “Y&R” we think they celebrated Christmas.

B&B Breakdown:It is uncertain when we will be able to report that the love triangle is over, but if you were away for the holiday, be assured the status quo remains. Candace says it’s a “bummer to see the dreaded triangle storyline revisited.” We couldn’t agree more. Her take on the Rick and Caroline saga is spot on and quite possibly that could be more annoying than the triangle at this point. The heartfelt Christmas moments this week were worth tuning in for though as Eric attended the Celtic Woman performance and was joined later by family. Less heartfelt was what was on Bill’s mind. The best of the blogs.
Last week people were either coming clean, or trying to prevent others from doing just that. Rick finally confessed to Hope about his role in her breakup with Liam on “B&B,” while on “GH” Todd was doing everything in his power to keep Johnny from spilling the beans. Adam got very real on “Y&R” as well, but one person not being honest is Sami on “DOOL,” who seemed to think she will be able to bury the hatchet with the DiMeras. Good luck with that.

B&B Breakdown:
It’s official. The tangled web that was Steffy, Liam and Hope was back. Thanks Rick! “Well, Liam came home early to surprise a very happy Steffy and they enjoyed a carefree and passionate reunion,” Candace said. “This could only be the precursor to the return of the dreaded triangle. Hope called and obviously very confident that Liam would dump Steffy instantly and take her back, ran into his arms and kissed him.” Meanwhile. Taylor really needed to watch how much she revealed about her patients. Read more in the Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Blog.

The best of the blogs.
Gone but not forgotten was the motto last week, as Stephanie made a visit from beyond the grave on “B&B,” Bo may or may not be back in Salem on “DOOL,” Faison was finally revealed on “GH,” bringing everyone closer to Robin and the real Duke. And on “Y&R,” we couldn’t help but long for the bad boy days of Billy.

B&B Breakdown:
Stephanie may have left the canvas, but she was sure not going to let her death be the end of her. “While Stephanie’s announcement from beyond the grave was a cool twist, and a relief given how arrogant Thomas was behaving, it created a lot of questions,” Candace said. “Why doesn’t Eric just run the company himself? If this is supposed to bring the whole family together, why does the competition divide them into rival units? Why not force the ones who can’t get along to work together? What happens to Ridge when he returns? Why isn’t Thorne the next in line to the throne, or at least a part of the competition? Super-frustrating stuff if you’re a fan of logic.” Meanwhile. Taylor spilled everything to Katie about “the kiss.” Read more about that in the Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Blog.

Soaps Digest Column.

December 10th, 2012 by Hollie Deese

The best of the blogs.

The writers doled out dishy treats all week, with some fun moments on every soap. Bill’s boasting about his nakedness was true to form on “B&B,” while Carmine’s return on “Y&R” was much appreciated. Marlena couldn’t tear her eyes away from Kristen and Brady in bed on “DOOL,” and on “GH,” Connie made plans to publish a stolen romance novel, all fun stuff for sure.

B&B Breakdown:
Could it be the dreaded love-triangle is making a comeback before the end of the year? “I’m non-violent, but seriously wanted to smack Hope upside the head, and then Liam, during their inane talk about why they didn’t work out,” Candace said. “It wasn’t because of Deacon, or because Liam may or may not have made out with Steffy at an inappropriate time. They didn’t work out because Liam constantly flip-flopped and found himself irresistibly drawn to spending time with Steffy time and time again. Not to mention he turned to her within mere minutes every time something went sideways with Hope. Let’s talk about the big picture, folks!” Should they recast Ridge?
