The best of the blogs.

While not all of the November sweeps moments left us as giddy as Todd on “GH” when he found out Tomas was an imposter, each of the shows managed to deliver on some seriously soapy moments. Bill and Katie gave into a kiss on “B&B” – right before Katie snapped out of it. On “Days” we headed into another possible paternity-hiding storyline with Gabi and Nick. And on “Y&R,” we finally got some steamy scenes – in the form of a fantasy Chelsea had about Adam and Sharon.

B&B Breakdown:
Finally, Katie has snapped out of her panic and fear after having baby Will, but Candace was left wondering if it was too little, too late. “It was very unrealistic how Katie went from the darkest dregs of depression to happy-go-lucky following her panic attack,” she said. “So it was no surprise that Bill and Brooke looked shocked to walk through the door and see her lipsticked and laughing with Will in her arms – it was touch-and-go for a few minutes. As much as they love Katie, they had just experienced the first stirrings of passion for each other as well, so the air was thick with all sorts of emotions, which both Katie and Taylor picked up on. Soapy good.” How did the group react to the loss of Stephanie? Read more in The Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Blog.

The best of the blogs.

The short week only seemed to mean more action packed into all four shows. Katie’s crazy hit a crescendo on “B&B” while Brooke was the one with Stephanie near the end. Will and Gabi considered abortion on “Days,” as controversial today as it was decades ago. Quartermaine patriarch Edward passed away on “GH,” which lured family members old and new to the manse. And in Genoa City, Jack’s pill problem only seemed to get worse.

B&B Breakdown:
Rick called Eric to deal with business at a crucial moment, which took him away from his love Stephanie in her final moments. Luckily Brooke was there for her. “So it will be Brooke and Stephanie together at the end after all,” Candace said. “Brooke was very nurturing and calming – I enjoyed the scenes with her brushing Stephanie’s hair and dabbing her brow with a cool cloth, even as her own sense of panic rose at seeing Stephanie coughing up blood. Scary situation. I also love that they went outside in the sunshine.” Meanwhile things were heating up back at Forrester Creations. Read more in The Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Blog.

The best of the blogs.

The shockers from a few weeks ago have evolved into interesting new storylines and the advancements of some old ones. Among it all, there was a sad goodbye for Stephanie on “B&B,” a baby shocker for Will on “DOOL,” the return of a beloved character on “GH,” and a damsel in distress on “Y&R.”

B&B Breakdown:
With Stephanie’s goodbye party, Katie’s visit to crazy town and Bill’s horse noises, it was another fascinating week in Los Angeles with emotions all across the map. “Okay, Katie’s just starting to become creepy what with sitting in the dark lying in wait for Taylor at her house, and lurking around for takeout in disguise,” Candace said. “Not to mention the incessantly crying baby and heartbeat noises that follow her around. I don’t think Taylor’s really much help at this point either – the increasing intensity of her dire warnings about Brooke may land Katie back in the cardiac wing at the hospital!” Do you agree? The best of the blogs.

November sweeps always bring plenty of must-see moments to Daytime, and last week viewers were treated to more than a few shockers. Brooke and Bill continued to grow closer on “B&B” while on “Y&R” it seemed Jack could be headed for a pill problem. “DOOL” fans got to see Nick and Gabi go at it fast and furious in Salem. And on “GH” nothing could have shocked more than Duke removing his face and we were left wondering who was under the mask.

B&B Breakdown:
“B&B” has really been bringing it home lately with a great mix of characters and storylines. We’ve come so far since the non-stop Hope/Liam/Steffy days, but Candace is not convinced we are totally over the hump yet. She said, “Liam and Steffy spent much of their time in Aspen sitting with Will. This gave them plenty of opportunity to joke around, make out, and talk about having babies of their own someday. They are really being painted as a perfectly-matched couple right now – which, unfortunately, makes me wonder what is going to go wrong and when. Here’s hoping nothing will rock the boat anytime soon – it’s been so nice watching the show without the dreaded triangle!” Do you agree? Read more in The Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Blog.

While we said goodbye to Bo on “DOOL” this week, there was plenty of drama to go around on all of the soaps. Stephanie continued to share her feelings with her loved ones before she goes on “B&B” while AJ started off his return on “GH” by becoming a menace almost immediately. As for “Y&R” the characters are doing some adjusting to accommodate the new writers, and so far we like what we see.

B&B Breakdown:
It was goodbye bikinis and hello snow gear as Steffy and Liam’s romantic getaway to Hawaii was abruptly canceled when a concerned Bill and Brooke jumped on board and changed course. But Candace did not think things were what they seemed once they got to Aspen. “Brooke and Bill moved quickly to follow Katie, only to find she’d led them on a wild goose chase,” she said. “I love how Bill took the time to insult Liam’s Hawaiian shirt at the height of the crisis. Too funny. Steffy and Liam’s romance in Aspen has been light and fun to watch – interesting to see Liam noticing what qualities she brings out in him too. As for Brooke finding Bill appearing to have overdosed – I don’t believe it. That’s not in Bill’s character at all.” Read more in The Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Blog.

The best of the blogs.
Working through illness and tragedy was a definite theme last week across all of the shows, as Katie did battle with post-partum depression on “B&B” and Sam struggled to find Jason on “GH.” But as we all know, rising from the depths of despair is when some of our favorite characters excel the most. Just think about Victor staring at the charred remains of his home on “Y&R.” He may be down now, but not for long.

B&B Breakdown:
Postpartum depression is an incredibly sensitive subject, and one that must be hard for pregnant Heather Tom to tackle, but she is taking it head on. “Well, Katie has certainly spiraled down into a desperate place indeed,” Candace said. “It’s amazing that she didn’t have any concerns about her mortality during her pregnancy, and now she’s consumed with it. Also, following Will’s birth she was leery to let Bill have any influence over their son, and now she’s planning to leave Will completely in his care! I suppose it illustrates how skewed things can become in the mind of someone suffering from post-partum depression. Katie’s little visions of Bill and Brooke romping in a field with Will were probably foreshadowing of a Bill/Brooke hook-up. Why not? Heck, they have Katie’s permission. Of course, once Katie’s back in her right mind…she may feel a little differently.” Read more in The Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Blog.

The best of the blogs.
New writers on “Y&R,” beloved characters handling health crises  on “B&B” and “Days,” and the impending departure  and return of some beloved favorites on “GH” all dotted the Daytime landscape last week, with storylines that brought laughter and tears and everything in between.

B&B Breakdown:
As Stephanie revealed to friends and family that her cancer had returned, it was hard for Candace to watch, and she anticipated more tears as the story advanced. “Watching Stephanie and Eric digest the news about her prognosis was heart-rending, however, the real waterworks started when Stephanie told Pam, and later, Brooke, that she’s going to die,” she said. “The raw emotion this storyline will evoke in ‘B&B’ fans is a testimony to the depth of feeling and attachment they develop for the characters they have watched for so many years. Stephanie is like a mother to Pam and Brooke … and to us. Whether you loved her, or loved to hate her, it’s the end of an era.” Meanwhile, Thomas continued to act out of turn. The best of the blogs.

With an arrest on “Y&R,” health scares on both “B&B” and “DOOL,” and an escaped psychopath with a baby on the roof on “GH,” Daytime had it all last week. People even came back from the dead!

B&B Breakdown:
While Stephanie’s cancer news ended the week on a sad note, it was Caroline’s seemingly total turnaround that had everyone scratching their heads.  “Caroline appeared to be an intelligent and strong young woman – one who would most certainly see through Rick’s transparent manipulations,” Candace said. “Thomas’ reignited interest in Hope figured in, but it was still unnerving to see Caroline buy fully into Rick’s rhetoric because it made her appear to change overnight from a person with integrity to a disloyal dunderhead. In any case, Rick’s been too sleazy to be appealing lately, so it remains to be seen if they’ll become a viable couple with chemistry rivaling what she shared with Thomas.” Missed Hope and Liam’s exchange? The best of the blogs.

Lots of slapping last week as Carly got a few good swings in on “GH” and Nina laid one on Phyllis in Genoa City. Of course, there were plenty of people who were probably itching to get a good hit in who never got the chance, like Rick after learning he lost the post on “B&B” and just about everyone on “DOOL.” Passion, excitement and high drama were spread all around last week and we couldn’t get enough.

B&B Breakdown:
It was a great week on “B&B” as some seriously bold moves were made – and Donna was privy to some of those moves when she saw Liam and Steffy getting busy in the cabin. In the end, even she couldn’t deny their chemistry anymore. “Through all of the innuendo and sexy stolen moments leading up to Liam and Steffy’s reunion in the cabin, I couldn’t help but think how much better the dreaded triangle might have been if Hope and Liam had anything near as much chemistry as Steffy and Liam,” Candace said. “Obviously some prefer Hope’s more wholesome approach to romance, and that’s fine, but couples need to generate heat at some point or they might as well be brother and sister.” Wondering if Katie forgave Bill? The best of the blogs.

Bill and Kate’s baby bundle took center stage on “B&B” last week, Mel said her farewells to the citizens of Salem on “DOOL,” Victor snapped out of it on “Y&R,” and Connie really let her hair down at her classy bachelorette party at The Floating Rib on “GH.” But that was just the beginning of the Daytime dysfunction that happened, so see what the bloggers had to say about their favorite Soaps.

B&B Breakdown:
It couldn’t have gotten more dramatic than Katie having a heart attack after her c-section, but just as we were still subjected to Hope/Liam/Steffy drama, even ailing and hospitalized Katie couldn’t avoid them. “The drama surrounding Katie giving birth and then coding was well worth watching, including her little trip into the bright light where she saw Storm,” Candace said. “I always liked Storm, even though they wrecked his character toward the end. Not so great was Katie still talking about Hope and Liam’s relationship in the middle of it all – flat-out stupid. In any case, it was high emotion as Katie’s life hung in the balance.” How was Bill throughout it all? Find out in The Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Blog.
