Michael confronted Lauren, Chelsea felt guilty, and Kyle agreed with Summer…

Paul privately asked Lauren if she’d been sleeping with Carmine. Lauren denied it. Michael vented to Carmine about life, love and what it all meant. Later, Paul appeared as Lauren told Carmine she wanted her life back. Paul suggested she better end whatever had been going on immediately. After Carmine left, Paul told Lauren to tell Michael about the affair. Michael confronted Lauren, who confessed to having an affair. He stormed out and spotted Carmine with a matchbook containing the address of an Inn. The same address he found on Lauren’s pen. Michael called Carmine a bastard then demanded the truth from Lauren. Lauren claimed sleeping with Carmine was a mistake.

Summer moved, Avery was confused, and Michael became suspicious…

Avery denied Dylan’s claims that she still cared about him. When Nick accused Avery of the same, she gave his ring back. Chelsea snapped at Dylan for being so caring then quickly apologized. Later, Dylan saw Avery without her ring and asked her to join him back home, at the cottage, while he tied up loose ends. She refused him.

Chelsea lied, Phyllis heard about the engagement, and Cane shared news…

Phyllis reluctantly agreed to move into the Abbott mansion then met Avery, who informed Phyllis of her and Nick’s engagement. The sisters traded barbs. While Jack told Kyle Phyllis moved into the mansion, Summer told Phyllis she wanted to move into Jack’s too because Avery kept acting like her mother. Faith continued to have issues with Avery.

Dylan proposed, Billy gambled, and Adam was released…

Avery admitted to Dylan she hadn’t told Nick about the baby they lost. Dylan thought if they’d been able to grieve their child together they’d be married. He proposed. Avery turned Dylan down, claiming she couldn’t go back and wanted a life with Nick. While Dylan returned an engagement ring to a jeweler, Faith lashed out at Avery over the engagement.

Avery gave Nick an answer, Summer caught Kyle’s eye, and Victor and Adam made a decision…

Kyle forced Summer to get dressed and claimed he was into someone else to deter her. Abby told Summer the same when she continued hitting on him then scolded Kyle for not turning away quick enough when Summer appeared in a sexy dress. Abby informed Nick of Summer’s Kyle obsession just as Avery accepted Nick’s proposal. Nick warned Summer away from Kyle and ordered Kyle to stay away as well. Kyle assured Nick he would but claimed other guys might not – due to Summer’s new look. Across town, Avery asked Dylan if he ever thought about their baby. Dylan had, all the time.

Sharon took charge, Wheeler was caught, and Nick punished Summer…

Adam woke up and didn’t remember Chelsea’s admission about the baby. Vikki thanked Adam for saving their father but never confronted Chelsea about overhearing her baby confession. Later, Chelsea experienced abdominal pain. After an examination a doctor deemed the baby to be fine. Victor was furious when Sharon took over Newman at Adam’s insistence. Over talk of Adam saving Victor’s life, Victor apologized to Adam and acknowledged him as his son.

Adam was shot, Vikki overheard Chelsea, and Jack and Victor teamed up…

Adam was shot while trying to protect Victor. After Alex arrested Bob, Billy successfully cut the wire to the bomb. Sharon rushed to the hospital to see Adam, who needed surgery to repair his lungs. Victor begged the doctor to save his son. Chelsea arrived after Sharon called and told Victor Adam craved his love. When Adam got out of surgery, Chelsea suggested that Victor allow Sharon to see him first. Adam tried talking to Sharon about Newman before slipping into a coma. Later, Chelsea told an unconscious Adam that he was going to be a father. Vikki overheard.

A gun was pulled out at the wedding, Tyler didn’t believe Leslie, and Dylan confided in Sharon…

Ashley returned for Nikki and Victor’s wedding and accused Phyllis of taking advantage of Jack. Billy surprised everyone with a visit from Reed. Eric Forrester joined the family, as Victor and Nikki were pronounced husband and wife. Wheeler warned his henchman Bob to make the Belinda Rogan mess disappear. Bob lurked in the shadows, as Adam crashed the wedding. During his toast, Adam started hinting at the dead hooker until Nick recognized Wheeler’s henchman. The man planted a bomb then pulled out a gun. Adam rushed to protect his father, as a shot was fired.

Leslie visited her father, Avery’s apartment was trashed, and Chloe gave Chelsea advice…

Avery told Nick her client, Gus Rogan, was Leslie and Tyler’s father. Nick feared for her safety. Someone trashed Avery’s apartment. She refused to drop the case and found an American Flag pin left behind. Nick believed it was Wheeler’s and warned the congressman if something happened to Avery he’d come after him. Wheeler made a reference to someone about ‘the marks’ being in one place at one time, at a wedding. Victor confronted Wheeler about Avery and the congressman’s missing lapel pin. The men exchanged threats, as Adam eavesdropped. Adam confided in Sharon and admitted something appeared off about Wheeler. Later, Adam got word that Victor’s PI had proof Adam disposed of Wheeler’s daughter’s body. Adam believed Victor was going to blackmail him out of Newman.

Lauren swore Carmine to secrecy, Summer got an internship, and Adriana covered for Katherine…

Lauren regretted sleeping with Carmine, who promised to keep their night together a secret. Fen told Lauren he and Michael made up and urged her to do the same. Michael refused to apologize for trying to protect Fen. Lauren stormed off and back into Carmine’s arms. Later, Michael banged on Lauren’s door, as she and Carmine were in bed. After Lauren got Michael to leave she warned Carmine she couldn’t ‘do this anymore’. Kevin helped Michael trick Lauren into returning home. Lauren wanted more time alone, but Michael begged her to help him fix their marriage. Lauren allowed Michael to carry her to the bedroom then later ended things with Carmine.
