The Young And The Restless’ Casts Mark Pinter.

“The Young And The Restless” has cast veteran soap opera actor Mark Pinter in a guest starring role! TV Guide is reporting that Pinter will play a powerful congressman named Marcus Wheeler who will be in scenes with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). The actor starts filming on Thursday December 6 and will first be seen in Genoa City on Friday January 11. His role will last at least through February sweeps.

Pinter is known for his roles as Thomas Rayner (“GH”), Roger Smythe (“AMC”), Grant Harrison (“Another World”), Dan Hollister (“Loving”), Brian McColl (“ATWT”) and Mark Evans (“GL”).

The Young And The Restless Casts Ex-General Hospital’s Ignacio Serricchio.

Ignacio Serricchio will first appear as Detective Alex Chavez on Friday December 7.

TV Guide is reporting that former “General Hospital” alum Ignacio Serricchio (ex-Diego Alcazar) has been cast in a new Genoa City role. Serricchio will first been seen sometime in December as a streetwise undercover cop from New York named Alex.

The Young And The Restless Casts Redaric Williams And Lamon Archey.

Redaric Williams and Angell Conwell (Leslie) have revealed that Williams’ character, Tyler, is in fact Leslie Michaelson’s brother.

During the week of November 5 Lamon Archey and Redaric Williams both began taping for their new Genoa City roles. Look for Williams’ character, Tyler Douglas, to first arrive on the scene on Friday December 14.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that “The Young And The Restless” has just added two actors to their cast. Models Redaric Williams (“Allegiance,” “Damages”) will appear as Tyler Douglas and Lamon Archey will play Mason. This will be Archey’s first gig. Visit CBS Daytime for a look at the actors.

Access Hollywood’s Laura Saltman Returns To The Young and The Restless!

Laura Saltman will be making another Genoa City return – this time as a gossip reporter named Mona Madden. Look for her to appear on Thursday November 15 to dish some dirt on Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Avery’s (Jessica Collins) attraction.

We last saw Access Hollywood’s Laura Saltman in Genoa City when she appeared as a reporter from a gossip magazine named Sonia Wells back on August 24, 2009. This time Laura will appear as a Genoa City anchorwoman named Lynda Culpepper on August 2 in scenes with Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) and Jill Abbott (Jess Walton). The women will apparently be hovering over Neil Fenmore’s graveside.

The Young And The Restless Casts Hunter Haley King As Summer Newman.

Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Hunter Haley King is allegedly already in the studios taping scenes as the new Summer Newman. The actress has held roles as Adriana Masters in “Hollywood Heights,” as Bridget in “Hannah Montana,” and as a young Debra on “Dexter,” to name a few.

No word yet on when we’ll be seeing King in the role.

Jennifer Landon Out At The Young And The Restless.

Another actress released.

In a recent interview with TV Guide “The Young And The Restless” Head Writer Josh Griffith confirmed that the show will be losing yet another actress in the form of Genoa City newcomer Jennifer Landon (Heather Stevens; ex-Gwen, “As The World Turns”).

We wish the actress the best in her future. On another note, Griffith did say that there shouldn’t be any more cast cuts for a while.
