“The Young And The Restless’” Lindsay Bushman, who plays Summer Newman, is the latest being let go from the show. Bushman told our sister site Soaps.com, “I am grateful for the time I had to work on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The cast and crew are wonderful people. Thank you to all my friends and family for supporting me and thanks to many of you who tuned into a soap opera for the first time in 20 years. I am looking at this as a sign that there are more exciting opportunities for me.”
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that “The Young And The Restless’” Eric Braeden has allegedly signed a new deal with Sony TV that will keep his character, Victor Newman, in Genoa City for years to come. As for how long, neither the production company nor the show ever discuss actor contracts.

Entrainment Weekly is reporting that James Avery (“The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air,” Philip Banks) will be making a guest appearance on “The Young And The Restless” as a judge. Avery will start taping scenes today September 14, which will air beginning Friday October 12.

Kevin: I spoke to my manager this morning about my acting plans for the fall and he informed me the new EP decided to recast my character just before the weekend. I was in San Francisco enjoying Outsidelands [music festival] over the weekend so he waited until I was back to tell me. Thankfully, Stevie Wonder has pumped me with a healthy dose of optimism!
Look for Franklin to first appear on Friday August 24 as Sister Celeste.

Actress Bonnie Franklin, best known as Ann from “One Day At A Time,” will be guest starring on “The Young And The Restless” as a nun named Sister Celeste. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Franklin will be in the studio taping this week for mid-August scenes with Eric Braeden (Victor).
Soap Opera Network is reporting that former “General Hospital” actor Graham Shiels (ex-Cody Paul) will be joining “The Young And The Restless.” Though the actor has confirmed his role, details are being kept hush-hush. His first airdate has been reported as Monday September 10. Soap Opera Fan Blog will update readers as details are released.
Shiels has appeared on such Primetime shows as “CSI,” “NCIS,” “True Blood,” and most recently as Craig Marko on “Leverage.”
