Goodbyes and concerns…

Adam arrives at work and states that he doesn’t want any distractions today. Sharon appears and wonders if that applies to her too. Adam informs that he’ll only be the boss for a few more hours, as he and Chelsea are leaving Genoa City tonight. He assures Sharon once Jack returns she’ll still have a job – Jack owes him. After weeks of struggling with her feelings and pushing Adam back into his wife’s arms, Sharon says goodbye to Adam and Chelsea.

Taking sides and withdrawals…

Over talk of business, Billy wonders if Victoria really thinks he’d side against her. Victoria reminds him of what they’ve been through the past few months. After a conversation on who they are most loyal to, Victor or Jack, Billy and Victoria agree to be loyal to each other first and foremost. Meanwhile, Victor is hit with a threat.

Adam rants about Billy taking over his position at Newman. Chelsea can’t take Adam’s ties to those in Genoa City and wonders what it’s going to take for him to free himself of them all. He finally agrees to leave town with her and even books a trip to Paris. Chelsea is happy until she overhears Adam leaving a message for Sharon about the position at Newman.

Fortune and upset…

It’s been a long time since Chloe and Kevin had something to celebrate. As they bask in the afterglow of their fortune, Noah demands that Summer give him back the money. Summer assures Noah that she knows nothing about the missing money but wonders why Noah seems scared. Later, Kevin questions when Detective Alex is leaving Genoa City, considering he hasn’t had any luck in his investigation. Alex wonders what makes Kevin think he hasn’t had any luck. Chloe initially wants to turn the money in for the reward, but when Kevin worries they’ll become suspects in Alex’s case, the money begins to freak Chloe out. Alex hears Kevin tell Chloe that they need to ‘fix this now’.

Celebrating and saying goodbye…

Various Genoa City residents celebrate the New Year. While Victoria tells her husband that she wants to be with him, Nikki rants to Victor that their kids won’t be celebrating New Year’s with them because of his quest to get Newman back. Victor assures Nikki that not only will he get the company back, he’ll get their children back too.

Encounters and questions…

Over talk of the intervention for Jack, Vikki suggests to Phyllis, Billy, and Kyle that they tell Jack how hurt they are over his addiction instead of coming down hard on him. Billy wonders if it will be enough for Jack to choose them over the pills. They decide to call someone for help. Meanwhile, a drug dealer informs Jack that he keeps all of his clients happy. Jack assures the man that he isn’t his client – that this is a onetime buy – then snatches the pills from his hand. Jack runs into Victor, who calls him a drug addict and brings up how John would feel to see what Jack’s become. Later, Jack finds Billy, Kyle, Phyllis and Neil waiting for him. Jack turns to leave, as everyone begs him to get help.

Karma and celebrations…

Jack informs Kyle and Adam that by next week Jabot will be a subsidiary of Newman Enterprises. Later, Jack makes a peace offering that isn’t accepted. However, those who care about Jack the most rally around him in hopes of getting him help through an intervention.

Chelsea tells Chloe that everything that is happening to her is because of the awful things she’s done in the past. Chloe begs to differ and states if anyone is due for a dose of bad karma it’s Sharon Newman. Adam is forced to make a tough decision in regards to Chelsea. Meanwhile, Nick takes note that Sharon is getting much better. He tells Sharon he should know because no one knows her like he does.

Attraction and deception…

Jamie informs Michael and Lauren that he’s being sent to a group home. The Baldwins insist that Jamie stay with them for the time being. Fen acts as though he’s okay with the arrangement. Jamie assures Fen if he had somewhere else to go he would – he’s not trying to take Fen’s life. Later, Lauren finds a disposable cell phone and wonders why it’s in Fen’s possession.

Phyllis and Nick join Summer for a birthday celebration. Believing their daughter has matured over the last couple of months, they give her a car.

Missing and stupidity…

Nikki tries to get Chelsea to testify against Sharon but she refuses – for fear of implicating Adam. Later, Adam asks Victor to trust what he’s doing then warns Jack to get his act together. Nikki is furious to hear that Victor struck a deal with Adam and that he no longer plans to make Sharon pay for the fire – all in the name of getting Newman back. Adam and Chelsea discuss their marriage, with her wanting Adam to commit to it being his top priority. After Nick tells Avery that he bought the nightclub, he has a hard time getting a hold of Noah by phone – and realizes Sharon is gone and that she took Faith with her.

Introductions and fears…

Neil witnesses a guy kiss Leslie. When she spots Neil, Leslie calls him over and introduces him to her brother, Tyler. After a bit of small talk, Tyler asks Leslie how long she’s been sleeping with her boss. Awkwardness ensues until Neil hears that Tyler is a graphic designer and suggests he make a pitch to Jabot. Soon, Jack appears and informs Neil that he’s folding Jabot into Newman.

Sharon tells an investigator that she was in Chicago at the time of the fire then worries to Nick about the fact that Victor wants to see her rot in jail. She fears Victor will get his wish. Noah worries about the same thing and asks Nick to help him make sure his grandfather doesn’t press charges against his mother. Nick goes to Victor and urges him to back off of Sharon. Victor can’t believe Nick would suggest he do that. Nick even agrees to fight for Newman if Victor leaves Sharon alone. Victor warns it’s too late for that.

Questions and outcomes …

Christine informs Paul that Danny didn’t take their break-up very well. Paul asks Christine if she thinks they are doing the wrong thing and is stunned to hear that she quit her job and plans to move back to Genoa City. Though Paul asks her to move in with him, Christine wants to look for her own place.

Neil arrives at Jabot and finds things more casual than normal. He lashes out at Devon and demands to know if his son thinks he can override him when it comes to company policy. Devon adamantly says no – not at all. Neil’s just kidding and agrees to try out the new approach. Leslie reports that morale is up, unbuttons Neil’s shirt and urges him not to be so uptight. Before things get too hot between them, Leslie leaves. Lily and Devon witness their chemistry and think Leslie would be great for their father.
